It’s hard to use. Sometimes, you can right click on the symbol and no response. This is frustrating for a child. This requires a great deal of help and IMO you can also remove the electronic experience and just bought a lot of books, instead of this gadget. When you think about the cost, and ink cartridges … you could have a pretty good library of books purchased by the same amount of money.
My son received a little touch LeapPad for his 2nd birthday. The first time I played with him could not figure out how to run it (by pressing the green circle “go” on the side of the page, etc.) and needed my help. During the next two years he played with him from time to time, and gradually began to improve in the navigation pages.

It is now 4 1 / 2 and became the favorite toy. He is an expert in control of all aspects. I could go on and on about what you learned from it. Ama ‘Lulu the Letter Spinning Spider book, this effort has taught them letters and letter sounds in a fun and interactive way. Brother two years, loves, and sometimes fight over who control it. It is hours and hours of use. It was very good on a journey of four hours on the road this week and my baby kept busy and happy all the time.

Other favorite books are “Pooh Loves You”, “Star Song Songbird” and “Animal World”.

The people who are making these judgments seem less enthusiastic children. I know the LeapPad is marketed for babies and children, but give the child some time. Older children will love.

I love the fact that this is an engaging and educational toy. My kids do not watch TV, so this is a wonderful and exciting for them to learn.
